Juan José Lagos Oviedo

PhD researcher

I am broadly interested in studying the evolution of social insects and how social life conditions the evolution of phenotypes. Specifically, I want to understand the emergence and evolution of the worker division of labour and the rescue behaviour.

My main study organisms are the army ants of the genus Eciton that rescue and provide medical treatment to injured individuals from their raids. Neotropical social wasps and individuals simulated in the computer.
