Vibhuti Bhat

PhD researcher

I am interested in studying animals, their behaviours and how interactions amongst eusocial animal groups in their ecological niche play a role in laying evolutionary foundations of social behaviours. I am also interested in studying prey- predator relationships. In the past projects, I studied the population ecology of large carnivores such as Tigers in India.

My main study organism is the termite hunting ant species Megaponera analis (The Matabele ants). I am studying the evolutionary drivers responsible for the presence/ absence of wound care behaviour in Matabele ants across Sub- Saharan Africa.
